Substance Abuse Policy

HAZCO is committed to having a workforce and workplace free from unauthorized, prohibited, illegal or controlled substances, including alcohol.

All employees are expected to be “fit for duty” and in a condition to carry out their assignments and responsibilities.

The HAZCO policy on drugs and alcohol is a component of the safety program. The policy includes the following forms of testing:

• Reasonable suspicion testing
• Post-incident accident testing
• Return to work testing
• Statutory or regulatory driven testing
• All employees are oriented on the substance abuse policy as part of their pre-employment occupational health and safety orientation.

Disability Management
HAZCO’s disability management and modified work program are components to our commitment to our employees' wellbeing. These programs have been proven to reduce injury recovery time. This means employees will be healthy sooner and able to return to work sooner.

A work-related injury can be a life-changing event, so it is in the best interest of the individual to work hard at recovery and return to work as soon as possible. HAZCO’s Claim Management Program provides the individual with the following:
• Access to medical care;
• A health and safety team to review progress and treatment to provide complete medical care;
• And, uninterrupted income through interim and modified work plans.

The successful recovery of an employee from a work-related injury is important to Hazco for their personal well being as well as for the skills and knowledge they contribute to the company’s success.
